9/7/07 Tonight will be the second "Fashion Rocks" show, and I still don't understand it. I mean, is it for charity?
What? I haven't heard anything about a real agenda behind this thing other than just entertainment... if this were the 80's,
you'd better believe that Bob Geldof would be all up ins their stuff, forcing the ones coordinating this to make it all about
feeding starving children. I mean, at least make it a benefit event for something, like clothes for the
poor or music programs for schools (or both)... but... nope.
I may watch it anyway, since last year they had a "glam rock" parade of models,
though the only glam rocker mentioned was David Bowie (they also played only his music for that. Bastards. Ever heard of T.
Rex? Marc Bolan? Helloooo?). I'd love to see them give recognition to glam rock's other supreme fashionistas -- like
Freddie Mercury!
Speaking of which, this week (on the 5th) marked the 61st anniversary of his birth.
Weee-hoooo! To commemorate the event, I drew this lovely portrait. <3
Which brings me back to our main topic; There really was an event after
Live Aid that involved fashion and music and a cause -- Fashion Aid. And guess who was the main attraction? I'll give you
one guess, then click this. ^.^ <3
Happy Birthday, Freddie-kun!
